Candle & Diffuser Care

Candle Care

Candle Storage

Always store candles in a cool and dry place out of direct sunlight for optimal results.

Tunnelling

When lighting the candle, make sure to let the wax melt to the edge of the candle. If extinguished before an even wax pool has been created in the candle you may experience 'tunnelling' and will leave you candle with an uneven area of unburnt wax.

Pull Away

Air bubbles can appear around the sides of the candle between the wax and the glass. This is known as 'pull away' and can occur as the wax expands and contracts with changes in temperature. The 'bubbles' are purely aesthetic and do not affect the performance of the candle. Placing the candle in a warm environment or lighting the candle will help to reduce this.

Wick Care

Before lighting your candle, make sure to trim your wick to roughly 5mm above the wax.

This will help to prevent the build carbon at the wick known as 'clubbing' and will help to create a better diffusion of the scent. It can also reduce the amount of soot created from burning which can form around the edge of the glass and can reduce the size of flame, which can become unsafe.

Candle Safety

Before Burning

Do not burn if the glass is cracked or damaged.

Make sure that the candle wax is clear of any debris before burning.

Whilst Burning

Never leave a burning candle unattended and keep out of reach from children and pets.

Keep candles away from any item that could catch fire and away from walls, windows or below overhanging objects, leave plenty of headroom.

Do not place your candle near or on a source of heat.

Ensure that your candle is secure on a heat-resistant surface.

Leave at least 15cm between burning candles.

Make sure to look after your wick and keep it trimmed to 5mm to avoid smoking and reduce flame size.

Do not allow the flame to touch the side of the glass.

Make sure the candle is extinguished and the wax has solidified before moving.

Extingishing

To extinguish the candle, always use a snuffer as blowing out the flame can cause hot wax to escape from the glass and the wick may continue to glow and smoke.

Ensure to leave at least 10mm of wax at the bottom of the candle.

If the flame flickers, smokes or gets too high extinguish immediately.

Our Diffusers

How do our reed diffusers work?

The diffuser liquid contains scented oils. When the reeds are placed into the liquid the oils are drawn up through the small channels inside the reeds.

It will take approximately 24-3 hours for the scent to start diffusing and the larger the room, the less noticeable the scent will be.

How often should I turn the reeds?

To refresh the dispersion of the scent, you can simply turn the reeds upside down and place back into the liquid.

If you notice a drop in scent, sometimes the reeds can get clogged. If this happens you can replace with new reeds.

How long will my diffuser last?

A reed diffuser on average should last around 8-12 weeks but can vary on many different factors such as fragrance, number of reeds used and the location of the diffuser.

Diffusion of the scent often speeds up in warm environments and slows down in cooler temperatures.

If the liquid is diffusing too quickly, try reducing the number of reeds inside the glass.

Reed Diffuser Safety

Safety Warnings

Always read the diffuser warnings carefully prior to use.

Do not drink.

Do not light the reeds and keep away from any open flames.

Reed diffusers are extremely flammable.

Avoid contact with skin as it may cause an allergic reaction. If it comes into contact with your skin wash with plenty of soap and water and if skin irritation occurs seek medical attention or advice.

Keep away from children and pets.

Liquid may damage surfaces.

Wipe down any residue oil from the bottom of the bottle and place on a protected level surface.

Disposal

Please dispose of any oils responsibly and in accordance with local regulations. They can be harmful if released into the environment such as aquatic life
